I think, this is just a joke about Stan Lee cameos in Marvel movies - he always appears very randomly, his scenes have no sense for story and he disappears after a couple of seconds.

Fun fact: It took approximately 17 years to get the film into development. Originally, Universal Pictures was to produce the film in April 1990. They later sold the rights to 20th Century Fox. Later, Fox sold the rights to New Line Cinema. Finally, Marvel Studios decided to handle their own creation.

Come to think of it, it actualy is. He went from the playboy douche to a responsible superhero, then went through PTSD, recovered, tried logical reasoning with illogical people, tried to be a father figure and finaly sacrificed himself to save the entire universe.

Mainly due to the fact that he was recovering from Alcoholism and it was kind of risky to use him in the film. He obviously nailed the part, because he's now (and for the foreseeable future) the face of Ironman, no one has that level of charisma/character, he's just being himself in the movies. After Iron man 1 though he was offered much more for every movie going forward. For comparison RD Jr. was paid 20million for Endgame with a percentage of profits bonus. Since endgame made 890 million, RDJr. Made an additional 55 million in bonus, for a total of 75mil. A far cry from the 500k startout just 10-12 years earlier.

I mean, most of the character's secret identities are known to the public, I'm pretty sure only Spider-Man has a secret identity, and that was removed after Far From Home.

Bruce’s is only know cause the government made it public, Thor’s a god that till recently lived in another dimension so no point of a secret identity, Rhodey’s was made public for publicity that Hammer wanted to get rich off of, Steve’s is actually only known by the government given how the public only recognizes him when in costume, the same for Sam if his hero identity is even known to the public, Vision is an android so kind of hard to have a secret identity and the others that come later appear to have a secret identity for the most part like how Scott Lang is only known for his past as a thief instead of his career as Ant-Man. Also I think only the kingdom of Wakanda knows who Black Panther is cause it’s part of their traditions.
